Includes Coaching

This training is designed to promote meaningful family and community engagement within a multi- tiered system of supports (MTSS) by strengthening collaboration, communication, and shared responsibility for student success. Designed for administrators, MTSS team members, and ESC staff, this training supports the development of collaborative practices that enhance student support and outcomes. Participants will explore the importance of reciprocal partnerships, emphasizing that effective MTSS implementation relies on ongoing sharing, listening, and learning between educators, families, and community partners.

Participants learn to value the contributions of educators and families within the MTSS process while applying practical strategies for transparent and accessible data sharing and interpretation. Through collaborative decision-making and shared problem-solving across tiers, the training emphasizes trust, reciprocity, and the effective use of data to strengthen family engagement and improve student outcomes.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the value of reciprocal partnerships between educators, families, and communities within an MTSS framework
  • Recognize and affirm the unique strengths, knowledge, and contributions that educators and families bring to the MTSS process
  • Apply effective and accessible strategies for sharing and interpreting MTSS data with families
  • Use a defined collaborative decision-making process to engage families across tiers of support
  • Strengthen family and community engagement to support positive student outcomes within MTSS

Coaching Support Included

This training includes a coaching component delivered by experts at each regional education service center to help educators apply what they’ve learned with confidence and fidelity. Coaching provides personalized, job‑embedded support grounded in four research‑based practices proven to strengthen instruction: alliance-building, observation, modeling, and performance feedback.

Educators and coaches complete a three‑step coaching cycle—pre‑observation, observation, and performance feedback—to reinforce training content and improve implementation. Coaching is designed to fit flexibly into your existing schedule and enhance your work, not add to it.
