Includes Coaching
This training is designed to build awareness of restorative practices as a powerful tool for developing relationships with students and families in both schools and classroom settings. Participants will consider how to implement restorative practices within a tiered model of intervention and student engagement. This research-based approach supports students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and academic development through meaningful, relationship-centered strategies.
By the end of this training, learners will be able to do the following:
  • Consider the perspective of their own sphere of influence and the perspectives of others.
  • Examine how restorative practices are most effective when founded on a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
  • Discuss the Social Discipline Window process and the consistency needed to build trust with students as an example of restorative practices at work.
  • Explore professional learning options required to do this work, the educator’s role, and personal sphere of influence.
