This training provides educators and school teams with information and resources to strengthen partnerships among schools, families, and communities within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). Designed for administrators, MTSS team members, and ESC staff, the training supports the development of responsive engagement practices that enhance student success. Participants explore the unique educational needs of families and caregivers and examine how understanding these needs improve student outcomes.
The training highlights specific student populations, including military-connected students and youth experiencing foster care, and provides tools and strategies to support academic and non-academic success. Participants also learn practical approaches for building and sustaining partnerships with families, caregivers, and community organizations, leveraging community resources to create responsive MTSS systems that meet the needs of all students.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Recognize and understand the unique educational needs of families and caregivers
- Identify military-connected students and youth experiencing foster care within the school community
- Access tools and resources that support improved outcomes for diverse student groups
- Implement strategies to build effective partnerships with families, caregivers, and community organizations
- Strengthen collaboration among schools, families, and communities within an MTSS framework to support all students
