The training will outline an administrator's responsibility for ensuring a student with disabilities receives an appropriate IEP. The IEP includes present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP) that identify the student’s strengths and critical areas of need AND ambitious, appropriate, measurable annual goals. Administrators ensure special education teachers provide accurate data and progress monitoring to families.

The intended audience for this training is administrators who participate as members of the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee as the local educational agency (LEA) representative and/or who will supervise and appraise special education teachers.
