TEKS Behavior Alignment Tool

What if behavior standards were written down the same way as academic standards? They are in the TEKS behavior alignment tool. It's a great resource on the Texas SPED support website. Designed for administrators, educators, and ARD committees, this tool supports planning for meaningful, aligned behavioral standards that promote student success. Let's take a quick walk through. From the table of contents, you can identify the content area and grade level you're planning instruction for. We'll choose English language arts and select grades five through eight. From here, you can see the specific TEKS and choose any of the aligned behaviors that are part of the mastery of that subject. This could be part of a lesson, unit, or intervention focus. Once you have your lesson ready, you can intentionally integrate behavior instruction into academic instruction instead of treating them separately.
