This session will provide participants with insights into the significance of blending American Sign Language (ASL) and English while teaching STEM subjects. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore different strategies to tackle this challenge effectively.
With years of experience in various fields ranging from instruction to outreach, Aaron Mowell is an alumnus of both Rochester Institute of Technology and Texas Tech University. During his time as an instructor, Aaron taught several areas within history, arts, and STEM. However, he truly showed his passion for STEM, enjoying seeing his students pick up on new technology that continuously emerges in our world. Currently, Aaron works for the State of Texas, where he oversees the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP).
