Ensuring Educators are Managing Their Own Behavior

[MUSIC PLAYING] We want to train teachers to self-manage their own behaviors. Give them tools. So if I'm implementing this, can I have somebody-- can I be provided a checklist that I can use to make sure I get things done. Do you grocery shopping list? Do you have your calendar? Well doing the same thing for teacher behaviors can be a really powerful tool. You can provide-- you can have teachers graph their own behaviors. So they can record things that they do or record things that are happening in the classroom, and then score those. And I think it's a really underutilized, but probably, necessity. Again, it kept coming up over and over again about the resources. And gosh, I'm one guy with 400 kids that I have to see, so that means 40 teachers, if they have 10 kids, probably 60 teachers. How am I ever going to do this? Well some of it has to be training teachers to be able to implement things themselves, be able-- not implement things themselves, but be able to follow-up and work on maintaining their own teacher behaviors. I think they will appreciate it. I mean, I believe-- I know that it seems like it's a lot to ask teachers, but I think that teachers like to have tools. They want to be doing the right thing. I think when you give them a tool that they can use to check things up, they love it. I mean, think about the recent insurgents, or surge, in exercise software and things, for people managing their own, and how useful is it. People love that stuff. So if you apply that same technology to teacher behaviors-- I mean, this is a big-- more research that needs to be conducted, but it just makes sense and a logical next step.

The importance of fidelity of implementation and data collection for educators.
