Building a Foundation for Supporting Students with Complex Access Needs

The purpose of this training is to create a standard of high-quality instruction for students with significant cognitive disabilities across the state of Texas. Delivering high-quality instruction means Educators use instructional materials, teaching practices, and learning environments that lead to learner success.
The needs of students with a significant cognitive disability require specialized adaptations and modifications to traditional educational strategies. This training series will explore five Quality Indicators of Effective Practices for working with students with significant cognitive disabilities. The modules and supporting rubric serve as ongoing support for teams of Educators working with students with significant cognitive disabilities.
